This brooch is nuts. I look forward to being an eccentric old lady so that I can pin scarves to myself with things like this. I might not wait. It's so fabulous. And strange.
This beautiful and insane brooch is English, from 1870. The flowers are set with demantoid garnets, diamonds and pearls. The insect, which is what elevates this from just unusual and pretty to crazy and awesome, is made of opal. The brooch itself is gold and platinum.
